Help Needed!

Christen Neill is seeking a few guys to help load a U-Haul trailer next Saturday, May 12. She also needs use of a half-ton (or larger) truck to pick up the trailer in Duncanville and bring it to their house in Cedar Hill. (Her dad and brother will be down Sunday to pull the loaded trailer up to Kansas.) She and Christopher will themselves be moving to another home on May 26 and could use some additional loading/unloading help at that time as well. If you can be of assistance in any way, please see Christen or email her at liltexas75@yahoo.com. She and her family want to thank everyone for all the help and support they have already received!

Farewell Potluck for the Neills

We will have a “Farewell Potluck” for Bob and Linda Neill on April 29, 2012. They will be moving to Wichita, Kansas the following week.

PREPARATIONS FOR EASTER ( APRIL 8 )

Sign-up sheets are on the table in the foyer for Easter breakfast and the Easter egg hunt.

We need a volunteer to organize the Easter egg hunt. Please contact Karen Hudgin for details. We are in need of volunteers to help decorate the church the day before Easter. We will start at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 7, and it will only take 30 minutes to an hour. Please email Karen (kmhudgin@yahoo.com) or Lauren (lauren.lowery@gmail.com) if you can help.

Bummer…Church Camping Trip Postponed

Sadly, we’ve had to call off our church camping trip for this weekend due to what we suspect will be inclement weather. Super-bad news, especially for those who already had made plans to take vacation time from work. We are so sorry for the mixup, but a family camping trip in the rain sounds like the wrong kind of bonding! Good news: we’re bumping back our trip to some point in April, so stay tuned for revised dates.

The ‘Century Mark’ Challenge

What a weekend the last one was! First of all, some of our leaders attended the EFCA’s annual conference, which was down in Austin this year (see the “EFCA Conference” photos).

Something else that happened this last weekend, we hit the “century mark” for the first time since Easter 2006!

Yes, you read that correctly. We had 102 people at church on Sunday. Now, don’t get too excited, but we may or may not be inching towards the possibility of a shaved head for Pastor Dan (note: not all parties are necessarily excited about this)!

Family Camping Trip

We’ve made the reservations, so it’s official! We’ll be taking a church camping trip to the Wichita Mountains in Oklahoma. Dates: nights of 16-17 of March, and will conclude with a church service in the mountains before breaking camp and heading back home on Sunday. Email Joe Schaeffer if interested.
